BUILD OPERATIONS MANAGER – BASED IN KZN & EASTERN CAPE

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Build/Hardware Operations Manager available to take charge of our Operations in the KZN & Eastern Cape Regions. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operations of our Build stores. The successful candidate will be instrumental in meeting all key performance indicators (KPIs) and upholding the highest standards across the business.

Scope of the job: Responsible for a region within the hardware division: ensuring sales, profit, operating procedures and store standard expectations are met

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales management
  • Ensure that sales targets for each store in the region are met or exceeded
  • Identify sales opportunities
  • Check department /category sales performance
  • Merchandise and stock management
  • Ensure that merchandise standards and plans are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure compliance to promotional activities
  • Monitor and report on promotional effectiveness
  • Maintain expected stock holding standards whilst maintaining on shelf requirements
  • Replenishment and ordering within company framework
  • Ensure shrinkage is kept to company standards in each store in the region
  • Finance and Admin – monitor budget and accuracy and control of expenses
  • People management
  • Ensure productive scheduling of staff in all stores
  • Training, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Succession planning for management & key staff
  • Recruitment – Authorising additional staff if required
  • Discipline – chairing and attending enquiries
  • Meetings with senior store staff & shop stewards
  • OHS – monitor compliance
  • Customer service – resolve Customer queries efficiently

Education and skills-Non-negotiable

  • Matric essential- Relevant Diploma or Degree will be advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years build and hardware experience
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of HR, IR and Labor policies
  • Must be familiar with retail systems
  • Understand and able to work with Excel , word and power point- must be able to prepare reports and presentations
  • Must have a valid drives license and be able to travel extensively
