Sassa Grant Payment Schedule For February

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) administers the majority of its social grants within the first week of every month.

The social grants that normally disbursed during this period include the older person’s grant, Child Support Grant, Care dependency grant, Grant-in-aid, War veteran’s grant, Foster child grant, and Disability grant.

For the month of February 2023, social grant payments will be withdrawn as per the Sassa social grant payment schedule.

The government agency has confirmed that it will commence with social grant payments on 2 February 2023, and these are the payment dates for the month of January 2023:

  • OLDER PERSONS GRANT: 02/02/2023
  • DISABILITY GRANTS: 03/02/2023
  • CHILDREN’S GRANTS: 06/02/2023

It was in the beginning of 2022 when Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana announced that some Sassa grants will be increased.

Some of these social grants were increased in April 2022 and then for the second time around during the month of October.

The Old Person’s, War Veterans, Disability and Care Dependency grants were increased by R90 in April 2022, and by a further R10 in October 2022.

This comes after the Foster Care and Child Support grants had received an increase of R20 in April 2022.

When it comes to the  Sassa Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD), there is no set payment date, as it is a temporary grant and it remains to be an amount of R350.

However, SRD grant recipients have been advised to wait to be notified of their grant payment dates via text message.

Alternatively, they may also check for their payment dates and also track their SRD grant application in the SRD official website.
